1 cup rice (soaked in water overnight)
1/2 cup coconut grated
salt to taste
1 medium cabbage grated/chopped finely
1 medium onion chopped finely

For the Masala

5-6 red chilies

Method

Soak the rice overnight and next day grind it coarsely.

Take all the masala ingredients ingredients except the hing, turmeric and tamarind. fry it till you get a nice aroma. (Pls note if you want to avoid this step simply add the sambhar masala to it.) Once done add the masala to the grated coconut and make a fine paste.

Mix the grinded coconut masala to the grinded rice and mix properly. Then add the grated /chopped cabbage & onion to it and once again mix it thoroughly till the masala is coated to cabbage.

Add salt and keep it aside. heat the griddle and put 1 ladle full of the mixture and slowly pat it till a round is formed. be careful since the dough is very soft. Close the lid and wait till one sided is cooked properly. Be careful when u flip it because rotti will be very smooth. Roast it till golden brown.

Serve hot this does not need any side dish.
